Description

Learn what the buzz is about at Canada's award winning tourist attraction! Your experience will vary depending on the time of year and needs of the bees. In the spring you may experience hiving bees. Throughout early spring you may be feeding the bees. During the late spring, early summer you may be assisting moving bees to farmers' fields for pollination services. Throughout the season a beekeeper monitors the health and wellbeing of their bees, medicating as necessary. During the mid to late summer you may be assisting harvesting the honey and other hive products. In our Production of Honey workshop, you will experience scraping the wax cappings off honey frames, extract the honey and filter it! Bottle and label the honey. Harvest and process other hive products like pollen, propolis, royal jelly and bee venom.
