Beekeeping Workshop - BC

Learn what the buzz is about at Canada's award winning tourist attraction! Your experience will vary depending on the time of year and needs of the bees.

In the spring, you may experience hiving bees. Throughout early spring, you may be feeding the bees. During the late spring and early summer, you may assist moving bees to farmers' fields for pollination services.

Throughout the season, a beekeeper monitors the health and well-being of their bees, medicating as necessary.

During the mid to late summer in our "Production of Honey" workshop, you may be assisting with the honey harvest and production of other hive products. You will experience scraping the wax cappings off honey frames, extracting the honey, filtering it, bottling and labeling the honey. You may also process other hive products like pollen, propolis, royal jelly and bee venom.

* If you are allergic to bees, ensure you carry an epipen at all times.

* Please bring rubber boots and have full rain gear available as well.

* Bring food that can be eaten in the field and water for yourself.
