The venue was lovely very charming full of warmth and character. You could feel the rich history of the victorian furniture and wooden beams steeped in memories of past patrons great and small including Pierre E. Trudeau and Brian Mulroney quietly observed by an ever-present portrait of Sir John A. MacDonald. The food was excellent expertly prepared in the the dying tradition of french tableside service. Our special requests were readily accomodated and the value of the experience was fabulous. The only thing & it was a tiny thing that was less than absolutely perfect was that our server while very competent efficient and professional lacked warmth. There was no smile upon greeting us to make us feel welcome nor during service although there was pleasant conversation. Also the dining room supervisor was somewhat curt over the phone but Karen at the front desk certainly compensated for it as she was warm and eager to help. Hardly worth mentioning in the grand scheme of things as the whole experience was delightful and we have already recommended it to friends and look forward to a return visit.
